We invite you to join an experiment in co-creating a peer supportive meditation practice community. The idea here is to build an environment where no one particular (or everyone) is leading the group, there is unguided practice, and open discussion.  Similar to a peer recovery meeting, we can create a rotating system for holding the space and keeping time.

This is a working description, open to change an adaptation with participants:
This drop-in group meets weekly to foster a safe, supportive space for developing a sitting meditation practice, and learning from fellow practitioners through sharing and discussion. Open to both those just starting their practice as well as those with more experience, the group meets in the spirit of the beginner, freshly, each week. In this spirit, each meeting follows an organic process of discovery, including a mixture of guided practice, open group discussions, and prepared readings. As the group develops, participants will be invited to bring pieces to share with the group.

All funds will be sent to the Just Healing Coalition (JHC), a group affiliated with the Boston Center for Contemplative Practice, raising
money to support the work of BIPOC healers and wellness practitioners in Boston.

JHC Mission:

“We seek to leverage our respective privilege through:
1) Support of expansive practices that embody mental, physical, emotional and spiritual wellness in BIPOC communities,
2) Provide direct financial support for BIPOC healers (in the greater Boston area),
3) Support of pre-existing community,
4) Highlight the structural and systemic causes of harm for BIPOC individuals and communities, and
5) Dismantle oppressive structures by decentralizing currently prioritized models of healing and wellness.”
