Detailed Description
The course begins with an Introduction to Mindfulness, which offers foundational practices for cultivating presence and awareness. We then move on to Mindful Morning, a half-day practice retreat designed to deepen your experiential practice of mindfulness through longer sessions and discussion.
From there, we explore Discovering Your Path, which guides you through reflective exercises and meditation practices to help you connect with your core values to find greater meaning in your daily actions and clarify your intention for practice. Transforming Your Mind Through Contemplation deepens your practice by exploring the power of contemplation to transform your thinking and expand your awareness.
Next, we dive into Bodhicitta: Awakening the Heart of Compassion for Self and Others, which focuses on cultivating compassion and loving-kindness towards yourself and others. The Art of Focused Attention: Mastering Concentration offers techniques for deepening concentration beyond introductory mindfulness practices.
Finally, Awakening Insight: Discovering the Nature of Mind and Consciousness through Vipassana Meditation explores the nature of reality and helps you gain insights into the nature of the self and the world around us.
This semester-long course culminates in Meditation Intensive: A Daylong Retreat for Meditation and Connection, providing an opportunity for a deeper dive into longer practice sessions and community discussions.
