About Me

Healing spaces are portals of transformation

I am a clinical psychologist, committed to co-creating relational spaces with my clients that support them in the personal journey. I believe in a holistic approach that supports equitable, integrated healing for individuals and their communities.

I work from a trauma-informed perspective: by recognizing the systems that perpetuate harm to individuals and communities, and actively striving to dismantle those in order to heal and be whole. I strive to create help my clients create narratives that honor and uphold their past, present, and future selves.

I create healing spaces that welcome and affirm individuals in all their intersecting identities and how those can evolve over time. I work from an anti-racist, sex-positive, gender-affirming, feminist perspective.

My approach uses tools from several therapeutic modalities to develop a plan that works best for each individual, as well as including contemplative practice, play, and nature-based sensory reintegration. I am passionate about music, art, and nature, and will use these as mediators of expression and change with clients whose interests overlap.

Brittaney Valentino E-RYT 200, YACEP

Brittaney started her yoga journey in 2012, not knowing that by the end of her first class she would be hooked. What started as awkward curiosity, rapidly transformed into passion and a self-discovery. Whether it is through mental or physical strength, buried emotion, or stress relief with every practice she learns something new about herself. Finding yoga started a new life and new path for her.

Brittaney’s new sense of self made her realize that she wanted to share and help others. She received her 200-hour certification through Empowered Yoga in March 2015 and went on to get a certification in Balanced Athlete 1 & 2 in January 2016. She is also a certified Meditation teacher under the guidance of her teacher David Nichtern and is currently pursuing her 300-hour certification through Shala Ananda.

Through her pregnancy and the birth of her son in May 2016, she once again found a new beginning through yoga. She found mommy and baby classes, to aid in finding new ways to move a new mom in a “new” body. Through this she found that she also wanted to share this gift with children. She completed a yoga for kids workshop in 2016 with Le Petit Yogi and has been leading youth classes, workshops and programs through the city of Wilmington, Delaware in collaboration with Flyogi.

Through her teaching in different populations and environments, she recognized a need to shift her focus to working to bringing communities together. In 2019 Brittaney opened Root Nest LLC., a home-based studio, where she can do just that. In her efforts to work towards this goal she has begun to expand her reach and has started collaborating with The Boston Center for Contemplative Practice, offering Family Yoga classes.

When not teaching or learning Brittaney enjoys making memories with her family, traveling, cooking, and gardening.

Keyona Aviles, LMHC

Keyona Aviles, LMHC, earned her Masters degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling with a specialization in holistic practice from Lesley University. Her belief in the body as instrumental in mental and emotional healing led her to become an ACE certified personal trainer in 2003, AFAA certified Group Exercise Instructor in 2006, Vinyasa Yoga instructor in 2009, and to train with Project Adventure in Adventure Based Counseling

When she is not counseling or guiding workshops, Keyona enjoys spending time with her family, dancing, and creating expressive art pieces.

Keyona Aviles, LMHC, founder of Inspired Release, recently opened a home-based wellness boutique / private practice where she provides therapy and treatment to women, youth, and their families. She has integrated her 15 years of clinical mental health experience with what she knows to be true for herself and so many others: awareness of the body, movement, and curiosity are crucial to emotional/mental well being and soul level healing.

“I am Keyona Aviles, LMHC ~ an actively healing daughter, sister, mother, friend, wife, and healer. I consider it the highest honor to be invited into the vulnerable, static, and sometimes dark, places of people’s lives. With earned permission, I help everyday people touch the places where the possibility for exploration, change, and understanding has often been overlooked. Through my wellness boutique and private practice, Inspired Release, I help everyday people to put in the work necessary to allow healing and fullness of life to flow free. “

“By truly integrating contemplative, holistic practices into our everyday lives we allow healing and fullness of life to flow free.”

Practices like mindful movement & dance

“In my family movement/dance was how we expressed our deepest emotions, how we praised our God, how we shared ourselves when words failed. So when vinyasa yoga came to me, a practice that joins breath, movement, and creates reflective space, it felt both foreign and very familiar. It was a new way to access the healing available within myself; a way into mySelf through simple body movements.

“The way I teach is heavily influenced by the shapes, sizes, and flows found in my large family, the many forms of water around our New England and island homes, and my own body. I am grateful for gifts gained from learning with Rolf Gates, Micheline Berry, Leslie Salmon Jones, Carrie Tyler, Sue Jones, Tom Myers, Antigravity and Aerial yoga.”
