Full Moon Belly Dance Yin with Emily Peterson and Keyona Aviles

The Full Moon is a time to celebrate the abundance of the Earth and all the gifts we receive. It is also a time for us to go inward and feel our own abundance and connect with what we are harvesting in our lives and how we are bringing our unique gifts out into the world, as well as honoring the gifts we have received from our ancestors. As with all Full Moons, it can be a time of release and the energies of this moon can support us in allowing forth and letting go of what holds us back from being our truest selves.

In this workshop, we’ll get in touch with our inner abundance and true nature through Yin yoga and reflection led by Emily. Following the floor-based practice, we will release what holds us back and dance in abundance through basic Egyptian style belly dance, free movement, and guided meditation led by Keyona. All who are seeking to reconnect to their feminine energy are welcome. All comfort levels with body-based practices welcome. This experience will be enhanced by a colorful scarf or two, something to write in and with, a candle, a mat, a few blankets, pillow, or bolsters We also invite you to bring objects or pictures that help you connect to and honor your ancestors.

Yin is a style of yoga which focuses on connective tissues: joints, ligaments, bones, fascia. Known for long-held, more passive poses, Yin yoga helps restore the body through joint mobility while nourishing the body at the cellular level. Yin yoga increases energy flow within the body, and can be a soothing, meditative practice.

Slow Flow with Tiffany Ely

Are you in need of a well-rounded class that will stretch & strengthen your whole body, but also provide you with time to connect to breath & lighten your mind? Do you like vinyasa style classes but often feel they move too quickly for you to incorporate a meditative mind? Need something more physically demanding than Gentle/Restorative Yoga, but still nowhere near the intensity of Power Yoga? Then, Slow Flow is for you!

This yoga class combines poses with static holds accompanied by slower, more mindful movements. There will be traditional & non-traditional yoga poses to encourage multiplanar movement, in order to build postural awareness that you can bring with you off the mat. Expect breath & individual alignment to be the emphasis, over the achievement of a specific outcome.
